When God Rekindles the Light That Weariness Tried to Extinguish
Reflection
There are days when the
weight of the world feels heavier than the strength we have to carry it.
Weariness does not arise only from the body: it is also born in the soul, when
expectations fade, when answers take too long, when life insists on testing our
endurance. Yet it is precisely in those moments - when the light seems to dim -
that God draws near with greater gentleness, like One who rekindles a flame
without making a sound.
Faith does not
eliminate weariness, but it transforms it. Where discouragement sees an ending,
God sees a beginning. Where we see weakness, He sees space to renew. The light
that seemed extinguished did not disappear: it was simply waiting for the
divine breath that rekindles, purifies, and strengthens. This is how God works -
not with noise, but with presence; not with haste, but with precision; not with
imposition, but with tenderness.
Weariness, when placed
in God’s hands, ceases to be defeat and becomes seed. A seed that germinates in
silence, grows in the shadows, and breaks through the earth at the right time.
The light God rekindles is not merely the same as before: it is deeper,
steadier, more aware. It is the light of someone who has fallen but risen; who
has cried but continued; who has doubted but chosen to trust.
Inspiration
Today, God reminds you
that you are not alone. He sees what no one sees, hears what no one hears, and
sustains what no one else can sustain. Your light has not gone out - it was
simply waiting for the touch of the Creator. Allow Him to enter your weariness,
for it is there that He brings forth the strength you did not know you had.
Take a deep breath.
Begin again. Light always returns to those who refuse to stop seeking God in
the middle of the night.
Prayer
Lord, In the moments
when weariness weighs heavily and hope feels distant, come to me with Your
light. Rekindle in me the courage that was lost, the peace that scattered, and
the confidence that weakened. Illuminate my steps, even when I cannot see the
path. Strengthen my heart, even when strength fails me. Sustain my faith, even
when doubt draws near. May Your light, reborn within me, be a beacon, a
comfort, and a guide. Amen.
