When God rekindles the courage that fear tried to silence
Reflection
Courage
is not the absence of fear; it is the strength that rises when we recognise
that we do not walk alone. There are days when the heart seems to shrink before
uncertainty, when the soul feels small in the face of challenges it did not
choose. Yet it is precisely in those moments that God draws near with greater
tenderness, rekindling within us a flame that fear tried to extinguish. He does
not ask us to be heroes, only to make room for His presence to act where our
strength can no longer reach.
Scripture
reminds us that “perfect love casts out fear.” It is not a theoretical,
distant, or abstract love; it is a love that sustains, lifts, and illuminates.
When God touches a weary heart, something shifts quietly: what once seemed
impossible becomes bearable, what felt heavy becomes lighter, what appeared
lost finds new meaning. Courage is reborn not because everything is resolved at
once, but because we know He walks with us step by step.
Some
fears settle in slowly - the fear of failing, of not being enough, of losing
what we love, of not being able to begin again. But God does not define us by
our fears; He sees in us the strength we have not yet discovered. And when we
allow Him to act, He transforms fear into maturity, doubt into trust, hesitation
into steadiness. The courage He rekindles is not impulsive; it is serene, wise,
and rooted in the certainty that nothing can separate us from His care.
Inspiration
Today,
allow yourself to breathe deeply and hand over what weighs on you. God does not
ask you to hide your fear, but to place it in His hands. He knows every detail
of your struggle and has already prepared the comfort you need. The courage He
rekindles is like a light that grows slowly but never again goes out. Walk with
confidence: what feels difficult today will tomorrow become a testimony of the
strength God planted within you.
Prayer
Lord,
on this May day, I place before You my fears, my uncertainties, and everything
that tries to silence the courage within me. Rekindle in me the strength that
comes from You, the peace that surpasses understanding, and the trust that does
not waver. May Your love illuminate each step, may Your presence sustain me,
and may Your voice be stronger than any fear. Guide me with wisdom, surround me
with Your grace, and make my heart a place where courage blossoms. Amen.
