When God opens paths where we only saw walls

The true strength of faith reveals itself on the days when everything seems closed. There are moments when life places us before walls so high that we almost believe there is no possible way out. But it is precisely there, at that threshold between despair and hope, that God often acts with the greatest delicacy and power. Today, this Sunday of inner renewal, we are invited to remember that the Lord is not limited by circumstances, by our fears, or by our perceptions. He sees farther, deeper, and higher than we do.

Today’s Word of Encouragement calls us to contemplate a simple yet transformative truth: God opens paths where we can only see walls. How many times throughout life have we believed ourselves to be in a dead end - emotionally, spiritually, professionally, or within our family - and yet something unexpected happened. A door opened, a person appeared, a solution emerged, an inner strength awakened. None of this was by chance. It was grace.

This reflection invites us to look at our inner walls: the fear of failure, accumulated exhaustion, the feeling that we have already tried everything, the doubt that silently corrodes. God ignores none of these realities. On the contrary, He enters them. And when He enters, He transforms. Where we see limits, He sees possibilities. Where we see ruins, He sees fertile ground. Where we see silence, He prepares an answer.

To draw inspiration today means allowing this certainty to touch us: we are not abandoned within our walls. God is at work, even when we do not see it, even when we do not feel it, even when everything seems motionless. He is a specialist in surprising us, in reversing situations, in creating ways out that surpass human logic. Faith does not eliminate the walls, but it prevents them from becoming prisons.

May this Sunday be an invitation to trust. Not naïve trust, but mature trust - the kind that is born from the experience of someone who has already seen God act before. The trust that says: “I don’t know how, but I know He can.” The trust that takes a deep breath and continues. The trust that transforms waiting into hope.

Prayer

Lord, on this Sunday I offer You all the walls I encounter along my path - the ones I see and the ones I carry within me. Grant me the grace to trust that You are greater than any obstacle, greater than any fear, greater than any impossibility. Open paths where I have already stopped searching. Illuminate what is dark, strengthen what is fragile, renew what is weary. May I know how to wait with faith, walk with courage, and recognise Your hand in every step. Amen.
