When the heart grows still,
God speaks louder
There
are days when the world seems to move far too quickly. Demands multiply,
worries pile up, and the soul quietly asks for a pause. On this Wednesday, we
are invited to rediscover the inner rhythm we so often lose. Today’s Word of
Encouragement reminds us that a heart that grows still becomes capable of
hearing what the noise of life tries to drown out: the gentle voice of God.
Reflection
Inner
silence is not the absence of sound, but the presence of meaning. It is the
space where we stop fighting against everything and everyone, and allow God to
find us again. Many times, we look for quick answers, immediate solutions,
obvious signs. But divine wisdom rarely imposes itself; it whispers. And only
those who slow down can truly listen.
To
quiet the heart does not mean giving up, but trusting. It is recognising that
we do not control everything, that we do not need to carry the world on our
shoulders, that there is a greater Love that goes before us and sustains us.
When we pause, even for a moment, we realise that God was already at work long
before we asked for help.
Perhaps
that is today’s invitation: to pause, to breathe, to surrender. Not to escape
reality, but to rediscover it with renewed eyes. Peace is not born from the
absence of problems, but from the certainty that we do not walk alone.
Inspiration
Imagine
your heart as a lake. When the surface is agitated, nothing can be seen
clearly. But when the waters become still, the sky reflects upon them. So it is
with the soul before God. He does not need storms to reveal Himself; He
manifests in calmness, in trust, in surrender.
Perhaps
today God is saying to you: “Do not fear. I am here. Let Me guide you.”
And
when we allow Him to guide us, even the most uncertain paths gain light.
Prayer
Lord,
on this Wednesday I place before You everything that troubles me. Calm my
heart, silence my fears, and renew my trust. Teach me to stop, to listen, and
to recognise Your presence in the small things. May I find in You the serenity
that the world cannot give me. Guide my steps, enlighten my decisions, and
strengthen my hope. Today, I offer You who I am, what I have, and what I still
cannot understand. Stay with me, Lord, and make my heart a place of peace.
Amen.
