When God Rekindles the Courage That Fear Tried to Silence
The strength that God places in the human heart does not disappear; at times it simply hides behind tiredness, doubt, or fear. On this Wednesday, we are invited to remember that courage is not born from the absence of difficulties, but from the constant presence of God, who accompanies us even when everything feels fragile. True courage is not a shout but a steady breath that lifts us when we no longer have the strength to rise. It is this divine breath that rekindles itself within us today.
Life presents moments when fear tries to take up too much space. The fear of the future, the fear of failing, the fear of losing, the fear of not being enough. But God did not create us to live imprisoned. He calls us to walk with confidence, reminding us that every step taken in faith is a step fear cannot dominate. When we welcome the divine presence, we discover that courage is not an isolated human effort but a partnership between our surrender and God’s strength.
Today’s reflection invites us to look within and recognise that the courage we believed lost is still alive. Perhaps silent, perhaps wounded, but alive. God rekindles it with tenderness, like someone reviving a flame that is almost extinguished. He does not demand perfection; He simply asks that we make room for His light to shine again. And when that light is lit, fear loses its power and hope begins to breathe once more.
Draw inspiration from this certainty: God does not abandon those who struggle, who try, who rise even slowly. He honours every effort, every tear, every prayer whispered in silence. The courage He offers is not impulsive but steady; not loud but constant; not fleeting but transformative. Today, allow God to rekindle in you the courage that fear tried to silence. Walk with firm steps, even if small ones. God guides, strengthens, and sustains.
Prayer
Lord, on this Wednesday I offer You my fears, my doubts, and everything that tries to weaken my heart. Rekindle in me the courage that comes from You, the courage that does not depend on circumstances but on Your faithful presence. Give me strength to move forward, wisdom to discern, and peace to trust. May Your light illuminate my path and may Your love sustain me in every step. Amen.
